We are searching for a Communication Consultant who will work with FAS senior leadership and managers, communication colleagues, partners, and other internal stakeholders to shape a divisional internal communication strategy that’s aligned with divisional business priorities. This individual will then drive the implementation of this strategy through the development and delivery of related communication materials, campaigns and events.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned internal communication consultant to provide executive level internal communication coaching and support that advances senior leadership’s ability to engage with ‘crew’ and align them with organizational goals, strategies and values.
The ideal candidate will have extensive consulting experience as well as expertise planning, implementing and measuring internal communication strategies and tactics. This individual will be a strategic, creative, client-focused professional with strong project management and conceptual thinking skills. In addition, this candidate will be charged with understanding business needs and opportunities and proactively providing recommendations as well as developing communications plans and messaging that resonate with crew and drive business results.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Consultant will interact with leaders and managers in FAS, communication colleagues both within the department and other divisions, partners, and other internal constituencies to develop and deliver planned and ad hoc communication that supports FAS’s business objectives.
•Supporting key leaders with communication planning, deliverable materials and strategic counsel that align with Vanguard’s purpose and values and promote leadership visibility and engagement. This responsibility may be done in partnership with the relevant division communications lead.
•Regularly consulting with leadership, communication colleagues and other key business partners to ensure strategic alignment and communications effectiveness.
•Translating business strategy, initiatives and progress into effective and impactful messaging for internal audiences, including crew and people leaders.
•Developing communication recommendations, strategies and programs as needed to enhance or support business strategies, objectives or key initiatives; lead their implementation, tracking and measurement.
•Working with colleagues to develop a global communication strategy, collect feedback and counsel on communication strategy and messaging.
•Creating and implementing other programs, initiatives and tactics to drive effective communications (e.g., senior management communications outreach program) that inform, engage, enable and inspire.
•Serving as a member of communications advisory councils to drive aligned communications across the enterprise.
The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:
•BA or advanced degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related field desired.
•A minimum of 7-8 years of directly applicable experience.
