As the Communications Specialist, you will assist the Marketing and Communications Department with stakeholder reports, employee communications, online channel management, brand management, and more.

The Requirements

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, journalism, marketing/sales, public relations or communications, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong presentation and presentation development skills to pull information together for a coherent presentation, and the ability to write speaker notes.

  • The ability to multitask to adeptly manage multiple projects, with the ability to manage your own projects.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications, you will execute many and various aspects of communications, primarily internal. A large part of your role will be to work closely with executives to complete high-level, widely distributed reports, and to create presentations that will be delivered by executive staff. You’ll also have the chance to create a communications plan for various projects that span from anything from Information Technology to Human Resources across the organization.

Most of your time will be spent writing, but you will be expected to be a contributor to strategic plans for communications, interface with people from all levels of the organization (including many members of senior leadership), provide market support for our Internet presence, and much more. Some of your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting to develop and write executive-level business/company reports.
  • Supporting company and project communications by writing, editing, proofreading, and ensuring adherence to branding standards.
  • Developing and managing communication plans, activities, deliverables and timelines.
  • Developing and maintaining content for online channels such as the intranet, Internet, etc.
  • Developing surveys, analyzing results, and creating presentations about key findings.
  • Assisting with the development and delivery of employee communications, vendor letters, stakeholder updates, organizational announcements, presentations, recruiting materials, and any other communications as required.
  • Interacting with senior management, legal, project teams and many other stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Planning company-wide meetings, employee events, and associated leadership presentations as needed.
