The digital content developer reports to director of content strategy and produces high-quality, actionable and cutting-edge digital marketing and web content designed to elevate Temple’s reputation for a variety of platforms and audiences. Produces compelling digital advertising, branding and marketing content for web, email, social media and paid online media that integrates seamlessly with overall strategy and across platforms. Collaborates with design, web and digital strategy colleagues to produce powerful materials that deliver strategic messages, align with strategic goals, and are user-oriented, valuable, usable, sharable, findable and measurable.
? Produces crisp, captivating content for advertising, branding, marketing, temple.edu and other platforms as needed
? Collaborates with designers, strategists, marketers and developers to create, curate, update and manage content that’s strategic, user-friendly, valuable, usable, sharable, findable and measurable
? Writes, edits and optimizes content in accordance with SEO strategy and best practices and in collaboration with digital strategy colleagues
? Works closely with the marketing and social media teams to understand goals and contributes creative, innovative ideas to campaign strategy
? Identifies and evaluates platforms, channels and outreach ideas to improve user experience, build audience engagement and better tell the Temple story
? Understands user behavior and needs and uses information to develop targeted content
? Creates content for new web pages and sites and refreshes, updates and creates content on existing properties in accordance with content strategy
? Stays abreast of analytics and insights and uses that data to inform all work
? Ensures that all web content follows style guidelines and works with developers to assess technical challenges
Education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing or a related field. Minimum of 2–3 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required skills and abilities
Proven success in writing professional digital marketing copy, with the ability to produce crisp, compelling, optimized copy while maintaining brand messaging, persuasiveness and readability. Strong visual communicator. Fluency in multimedia, digital content production and SEO best practices. Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure. Self-motivated with a can-do, problem-solving attitude. Proven success in producing industry-leading creative campaigns preferred. Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills. Experience and familiarity with Photoshop, HTML, Excel, content management systems, social media and analytics tools. Deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.
