What do you get when a Belgian and a New Yorker share German Oktoberfest beers? IABC Philly’s networking event! On September 30, the chapter hosted a diverse and fascinating group of people, from different parts of the world and with unique talents.

The evening kicked off with a welcome from our programming committee and transitioned to a session led by Amy Dinning, a networking expert, who armed the crowd with conversation starters. Promoted by questions such as “What cool thing are you working on right now?” and “What’s something interesting you’ve done lately?” attendees mixed and mingled until well after the scheduled 8 p.m. end time.

Rock Bottom provided us with a perfectly-sized area for our group, along with some delicious German-inspired Oktoberfest beers. (Personally, I recommend trying the Hefeweizen before it’s taken off draft!) The food was just as tasty – an assortment of crostini, grilled shrimp, international cheeses and more.

Thanks to everyone who came out! It was a fantastic way to kick off the program year, and we look forward to seeing everyone again at our next event.
