The Role

As a Marketing Writer, Employer Sponsored Retirement Plans, you will be responsible for writing a wide range of levels and types of marketing content across all types of media, such as promotional fliers, videos, articles, and more, with an emphasis on digital content. Your audiences will range from sophisticated retirement plan consultants to plan sponsors (HR and CFO) and participants.

Responsibilities

Action Oriented

  • Creates marketing content that is compelling, benefit-oriented, accurate, and consistent with documented positioning and Lincoln voice to include everything from simple print fliers, presentations, videos, multimedia, website, email and social media
  • Collaborates with marketing managers, designers, digital business group, and other functional areas to conceptualize and frame complex approaches that satisfy marketing objectives
  • Works closely with web content managers to support web content change requests, prepare content for evaluation to website, support web content projects, and perform page integrity testing
  • Develops and applies knowledge of digital content best practices to web, email, and social media content
  • Participates as a partner with marketing managers to make content suggestions for their programs and audiences
  • Creates new ideas and presents these ideas clearly and persuasively to colleagues and internal teams
  • Monitors effectiveness and seeks to continually improve metrics by applying and testing new approaches
  • Collaborates with legal and compliance to find effective solutions that satisfy requirements, but also work in concert with marketing objectives and audience needs

Business Acumen

  • Works closely with subject matter experts to research and clarify specialized and technical topics and develop interesting angles and approaches to presenting the content
  • Actively stays abreast of developments in the industry and trends in marketing communications and social media, continually looking to generate topic ideas and new approaches to work

Requirements

Educational

  • Undergraduate degree or 4+ years’ work experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position

Experience

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in marketing writing that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities of this position
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing compelling marketing content for a wide variety of media and content type (newsletters, brochures, web pages, videos, presentations, emails, proposals, etc)
  • Knowledge of qualified and non-qualified defined contribution plans and defined benefit plans
  • Proven knowledge of the audience- consultants and advisors, plan sponsors, and plan participants preferred
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated excellent relationship management skills with external and internal clients
