The Marketing Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP is seeking a Marketing Writer/Editor. The Marketing Writer/Editor assists the Marketing Department with the development of a wide variety of firm publications, marketing collateral materials and other writing and editing projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Editing firm newsletters to conform with firm style; Write/edit articles for a variety of internal and external publications, including working directly with attorneys in developing articles for publication; Create and revise practice group descriptions, brochures, pamphlets, case studies, firm announcements, attorney biographies, Web site content and other marketing collateral; Write and edit internal announcements; Assist with drafting and editing of RFP responses and other proposals; Write and edit press releases and maintain press release files; Other writing and editing tasks as requested.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills: A bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, journalism, communications or similar field of study; Three years of professional writing/editing experience; Excellent command of grammar and ability to edit jargon-laden “legalese” into crisp, clear prose that is understandable to a non-lawyer audience; Solid proofreading skills and ability to pay attention to detail. Experience with proposals and “pitches” in professional services highly desired.
