Job Title: Public Relations Coordinator
Location: Blue Bell, PA
Job Description: Public Relations Coordinators (or PR Coordinators) are responsible for developing and maintaining the public images of assigned clients or organizations at the direction of appropriate Public Relations Managers leading related accounts. This may involve drafting and issuing press releases, building media lists, conducting media relations outreach, developing content for and managing the social media presences of clients and the agency, and assisting with the planning and execution of client events or media appearances.
In addition to many of the duties described above, PR Coordinators might also, with the support and involvement of management, help to:
• Respond to client inquiries
• Draft media alerts, blog posts, case studies, white papers, etc.
• Track media coverage secured on behalf of agency clients
• Research potential clients and/or client competitors
• Manage and monitor social media channels for clients
• Meet all deadlines
Salary/Job Requirements: Critical thinking, above-average written and spoken communication abilities, enthusiasm for social media management and related content development, prior agency experience working on social media campaigns as well as media relations work, a strong work ethic and a fundamental understanding of the news media culture. These are all core competencies required of this position.
PR Coordinators are expected to operate in a collaborative, collegial and cooperative manner with agency colleagues
at all times, and are expected to assist interns, PR Assistants and PR Managers in meeting client needs in addition to their own assignments.
Ideal PR Coordinators will have a minimum of one year of PR agency experience, conducting media outreach and/or managing social media on behalf of clients.
Salary is DOE.
Hours: Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexibility available based on scheduling needs
