The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing daily internal communications requests, working on department-based projects, and creating and implementing new initiatives, including support of campaigns designed to build, expand, strengthen, and maintain the Company’s culture. This role supports employee engagement through a variety of internal communications channels including, but not limited to: intranet; email; video; meetings/events; and other print and digital collateral. In addition, the Communications Specialist enhances employee awareness, understanding, and engagement through the creation and editing of video content in alignment with Ricoh’s mission, vision, values, and strategic direction. The Communications Specialist works closely with and influences cross-functional communication stakeholders and subject-matter experts across the organization, as well as with functional communication partners who assist with and contribute to internal communications.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Support day-to-day internal communications needs/requests from key stakeholders.
•Design, develop, and execute functional and company-wide internal communications, including, but not limited to functional messages and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaigns, such as the annual United Way campaign.
•Write and distribute easy-to-understand internal communications via a variety of channels that align with Ricoh’s business strategy, core values, and culture (the Ricoh Way) and resonate across diverse employee audiences.
•Review, moderate, publish, and coordinate content for RWorld, Ricoh’s intranet and collaboration platform.
•Manage and monitor multiple internal communications mailboxes and distribution lists.
•Maintain internal communications calendar.
•Develop relationships with key stakeholders, understand their goals and priorities to ensure organizational initiatives and key projects are communicated in a clear, concise manner that is consistent with the Ricoh brand and culture.
•Support corporate communications initiatives through video capture, editing, and production.
•Enhance employee engagement by identifying innovative ways to communicate the company’s global corporate philosophy, the Ricoh Way.
•Develop and implement new initiatives to keep internal communications fresh and continually transforming.
•Track and measure the success of communications efforts.
•Additional special projects, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
•4-year college degree (Communications, Marketing, Multimedia, or related discipline) required.
•1-3 years of work or internship experience in internal/corporate communications, public relations, or related field.
•Effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
•Strong writing and editing background.
•Video editing and graphic development/editing background preferred.
•Demonstrated knowledge of social networking.
•Ability to quickly adapt to social communication platforms.
•Proven experience with managing various internal communications projects simultaneously.
•Experience working with all levels of the corporate hierarchy, from front-line employees to executive management.
•Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required; knowledge of Office 365 (including SharePoint) preferred.
•Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Premiere) and/or other graphic and video editing programs preferred.
