Job Summary (Purpose):
The Communications Intern assists with project coordination, website content development and other general duties as part of AmeriGas’ Communications department. The Communications Intern works to support the Communications team in its efforts to inform, engage and inspire AmeriGas employees.
•Solid organizational and time-management skills.
•Ability to interact with internal customers at varying levels in the organization and demonstrate high customer service standards.
•Strong oral and written communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Provide day-to-day support on internal communications about and for AmeriGas’ Women’s Impact Network (WIN). ◦Serve as the liaison with the regional chapters, assisting with tools and resources, survey creation and analysis, event write-ups and internal social media.
◦Develop the editorial calendar for WIN’s website; responsible for creating, curating and posting content to include videos and articles.
◦Provide administrative support on national WIN programs to include mentoring groups and annual awards.
•Monitor and track employee feedback submissions and coordinate responses.
•Build custom distribution lists for targeted communications.
•Update and maintain the Communications Portal and other SharePoint sites.
•Assist with the administration of several employee recognition programs.
•Collaborate with other team members on department initiatives and projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to collaborate effectively.
•A firm grasp of grammatical and stylistic standards set by the Associated Press.
•An adaptable writing style that can be tailored by audience and medium.
•Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products is required; understanding of Microsoft SharePoint is preferred.
Education and Experience Required:
•Pursuing or recently earned a degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Public Relations or similar discipline.
•Some experience working in a communications function through a prior internship(s) or co-op(s) is preferred.
•Flexible hours / schedule available.
•This internship would run through spring 2019.
