Job Summary: The Communication Specialist is responsible to support the global internal communication needs of Quaker Chemical and its business leaders, by driving and executing various Communication initiatives and programs. This is a fast-paced, diverse role involving project management, writing and editing, and content development. This position reports to the Manager, Global Internal Communication.

•Write Quaker Chemical news and feature stories for internal distribution, using various platforms (both print and electronic)
•Edit/proofread communication materials prepared by others, for final publishing. This could include feature articles, case studies, and organizational announcements
•Navigate and build internal networks (across business lines and across regions) to gather Quaker Chemical news and information from “content experts ”
•Source and write Quaker Chemical news for posting on the Company’s internal SharePoint site
•Manage a bi-monthly electronic news blast, containing company news bites from around the globe. This includes sourcing information, writing, and distribution
•Source and write stories that highlight Quaker Associates living our brand; manage the weekly rotation schedule for posting these stories on the Company’s internal SharePoint site
•Manage various, quarterly electronic magazines. This includes partnering with different e-zine owners from around the globe, creating and managing production schedules, writing/editing stories, handling production (basic layout and design), and assisting with final distribution.
•Execute the Company’s new digital signage project. This includes making recommendations on content schedules, sourcing news/information, writing news/information, and handling content management
•Support the internal communication campaign needs of various corporate initiatives – such as Quaker University, Diversity & Inclusion, the Quaker Brand, and Corporate Social Responsibility. Support may include project planning, content development, writing, production/distribution, and vendor management. Note: some end products are produced in multiple languages

•A Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, journalism or similar from a four-year college or university, plus 3-5 years of communication experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Must have excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
•Must be a very strong business writer and editor, with the ability to condense complex/lengthy information into summary paragraphs
•Must have strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at one time, understand priorities, and meet deadlines
•Must have strong computer skills, including the MS Office Suite, SharePoint, PhotoShop and graphic design software. Previous experience with content management systems preferred.
•Must be a self-starter and able to work independently, yet take direction from others and work collaboratively
•Must have experience in networking within an organization to find needed resources and build strong relationships virtually
•Must be a detailed-oriented, creative thinker
•Strongly desired: previous experience working in a multi-national company, and a sincere interest in other cultures
