IABC Philly is excited to begin a new podcast series with communications experts from a variety of industries. Podcasts are a convenient way to learn from the best and brightest in our field.

Our podcasts are hosted by IABC member Steve Lubetkin, an award winning multimedia journalist and podcast producer. If you have an idea for a topic or podcast guest for this series, please email: president@iabcphiladelphhia.org

Bob Timms spent more than three decades in the newsroom at Action News, the local news program of the ABC affiliate, WPVI-TV, in Philadelphia. Before that he had a long and productive career in radio and TV news in the Philadelphia South Jersey Market, including positions at KYW-TV, and WIP and WPEN radio.

For five years he was news director for the Camden city-owned radio station, WCAM, from 1975 to 1980. He and podcast host Steve Lubetkin traded news audio over a phone patch from Camden to Asbury Park, where Steve was doing news for WJLK radio, and back again.

Bob joined Steve in the Lubetkin Media Companies studio for a great conversation about his career in broadcast news -- and the changes he's seen over the decades in how the news is made and reported.
