The Knowledge Management Specialist will be responsible for establishing & promoting a culture of knowledge sharing within Harte Hanks. This high visibility position will play a critical role within Harte Hanks as we implement our new corporate strategy in coming months. Reporting into Harte Hanks IT, this role will also assist in the implementation & end user adoption of technology solutions chosen to promote knowledge management – however, prior IT knowledge or experience is not necessary.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engages with every business unit to understand their knowledge needs and thus develop clear business requirements  
  • Identifies and supports subject matter experts from across the business; encourages these subject matter experts to use the chosen systems and business processes to share their expertise
  • Communicates & enforces Harte Hanks’ knowledge sharing goals across the business
  • Establishes and enforces style and content standards within the knowledge systems
  • Promotes end user adoption by holding informal & classroom style instruction with the end user community; provides 1:1 demos & hands-on training as needed
  • Actively solicits and documents end user feedback; per end user feedback & behavior, makes recommendations to enhance our knowledge systems
  • Ensures that a high standard of usability is maintained in all knowledge systems
  • Enforces and makes recommendations on content structure & information architecture
  • Works with internal groups to raise awareness and increase visibility of this key initiative
  • Provides admin and other support as assigned

 Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent planning, analytical and organizational skills a must
  • Willingness & an aptitude for understanding the use of software solutions to address business needs a must
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills. Clarity in verbal and written communication a must
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise tact and discretion in a professional environment
  • Strong attention to detail

 Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism or marketing or equivalent experience
  • 6 – 18 month experience in field of marketing, communication or journalism
