I am very pleased to announce a change in leadership of our IABC chapter.

Starting January 1, Michael Smith, Corporate Director of Communications for the Acts Retirement-Life Communities, will become the new President of IABC Philadelphia.

Michael is an insightful, intelligent and collaborative person, and is committed to the communications profession. As the new chapter President, he will bring his intelligence and enthusiasm into play to grow the chapter.

As a collaborative person, he would also appreciate your help. Michael welcomes your suggestions at He’s also looking for volunteers to get involved to help the chapter in a variety of areas. There are many opportunities, at varying levels of involvement including at the board level. Let him know if you’re interested!

In January, Michael will be announcing the other members of his leadership team. Some are new to the Board, others have been involved for some time.

As for myself, I will be moving from the role of President to the coveted position of “Former President.” If nothing else, I expect to get a lot fewer emails! For the time being, I will also continue to help with posting and distributing information of communication jobs. Of course, I will certainly stay involved to help Michael with the transition as he settles in to his new duties as head of our chapter.

Before I take my leave, I’d like to thank Christine Kuhinka, my predecessor as chapter President, as well as current board members Elena Perri and Steve Lubetkin. I appreciate all of your sacrifices and the many contributions you have made to IABC Philadelphia. Thanks also to the members of our chapter. I think Michael will be the ideal leader for IABC as we move forward, and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

–Bill Seiberlich–

  1. Thanks for your time, commitment and support to IABC, Bill. The chapter has sponsored some wonderful lrograns and fosters terrific relationships.

  2. I have known Bill for many years. We were communications professionals in IABC/Lehigh Valley some years ago when we were living and working in the Allentown,PA area for different employers. Bill is a strong communicator, dedicated, loyal, resourceful and a natural leader. I enjoyed my affiliation with him during our IABC/Lehigh Valley days. He should do well in all his future endeavors.
