Job Description: Ceisler Media & issue Advocacy is a full service public relations and issue advocacy firm that guides our clients through every step of their communications campaigns. With three offices across the Commonwealth and a growing list of clients, we are hiring an Associate for our Philadelphia office. Our Associates are an integral part of our team – they are our utility players, supporting our leadership team on a variety of projects, making important connections and delivering results.

• Assists Senior Associates and Directors in developing multi-faceted communications and grassroots advocacy plans
• Assists with media outreach including both proactive (crafting pitches, developing reporter relationships, etc.) and reactive (taking media calls about events, breaking news, etc.)
• Drafts press releases, media advisories, letters to the editor/op-eds, media pitches, blog posts, and other communications materials as required
• Assists with building and managing coalitions around advocacy issues, including email communications and regular contact with coalition partners and key stakeholders
• Conducts detailed research for Senior Associates and Directors and prepares reports, as needed.
• Utilizes internal PR database to research, update and prepare tailored media lists
• Assists with executing digital content needs for clients including developing content calendars and preparing social media posts
• Handles daily media monitoring and produces regular reports on media coverage and social media activity
• Provides support in planning and staffing of client related events
• Participates in business development efforts by researching and generating RFP responses and proposals
• Provides backup support for office administrative staff and any other duties as assigned.
Salary/Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science or other liberal arts discipline
• 1-3 years’ experience at an agency or an in-house communications role at a professional service firm, non-profit or public sector
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Highly organized, focused and detail-oriented
• Solid understanding of public relations and experience with media engagement
• Strong research skills and ability to concisely synthesize key information
• Client service experience and poise working with senior leadership
• Willingness to adapt to the many changing requirements/needs of a fast-paced company and industry
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented culture
• Excellent interpersonal, networking, and influencing skills
• Conscientious, motivated, self-directed, and proactive with a willingness to take on additional projects
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and execute against deliverables under deadlines and competing priorities
• Strong time management and project management skills
• Experience with social media and digital content in a professional setting a plus
• Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Knowledge of Cision, Critical Mention and other media software a plus

Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
